Craft beer and concert festival in Chalindrey
La Bière du Son is a friendly festival combining craft beer and live music, organized every year in September on the Place du Marché in Chalindrey, Haute-Marne. Created in 2021 by the Cheminots Sportifs de Chalindrey (CSC), the event brings together about twenty craft brewers from the Grand Est and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions, as well as several rock, punk rock, and contemporary music bands. A true back-to-school event, it attracts between 2,500 and 3,000 visitors each year in a family atmosphere, with food trucks and a local producers' market.
Born in October 2021 from an initiative by the seven sections of the Cheminots Sportifs de Chalindrey (CSC), La Bière du Son has quickly established itself as a must-attend event for the back-to-school season in Haute-Marne. From its very first edition, the event attracted 2,400 visitors, drawn by an original concept combining craft beer tasting and open-air concerts on the Place du Marché in Chalindrey.
Each edition brings together between 16 and 21 brewers exclusively from the Grand Est and Bourgogne-Franche-Comté regions. Visitors can discover a wide range of craft beers - white, blonde, amber, red, brown - offered by local breweries such as Brasserie Tab'z from Chaumont, La Choue from Giey-sur-Aujon, or Brasserie des Babouins Jurassiens from Poligny. Non-alcoholic drinks are also available for younger attendees and drivers.
La Bière du Son offers a varied musical program each year with four to six concerts running from the afternoon until late at night. Styles range from alternative rock to punk rock, including pop rock, latino rock, fusion, and festive brass bands. The event has notably hosted bands like The Gluteens, Serum, Wildation, NTTF, Michalon, and Qué Fanfare, with a prime spot reserved for regional and local groups.
Organized by about a hundred volunteers from the various sections of the CSC, a sports association with 700 members and chaired by Monique Gerson Thomas, La Bière du Son aims to be an event open to all. The event benefits from the logistical and technical support of the municipality of Chalindrey. An ecocup and bracelet system distinguishes adults from minors, ensuring responsible consumption.
Beyond beer and music, the festival offers a varied catering selection thanks to several food trucks on site, complemented by stands run by volunteers offering waffles, crepes, and churros. A market of local producers and artisans completes the event, showcasing the know-how of the southern Haute-Marne and Pays de Langres region.
