About Musique au Chambertin
Musique au Chambertin — edition 2026
2026 edition of the Festival Musique au Chambertin, in the wine-growing villages of the Côte de Nuits (Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Gilly-lès-Cîteaux). New for 2026: the festival now spans two weekends, one in spring (May 8, 9 and 10) and one in autumn (October 2, 3 and 4), with classical music concerts in the heart of the Burgundy estates.
For its 2026 edition, the Festival Musique au Chambertin adopts a new two-part format: a spring weekend on May 8, 9 and 10, followed by an autumn weekend on October 2, 3 and 4. The concerts are held in the wine-growing communes of Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Gilly-lès-Cîteaux, faithful to the spirit of the festival which combines high-level classical music and the terroir of the Côte de Nuits.
The spring weekend opens on Friday, May 8 with the concert "A World Tour in 80 Minutes", a festive program ranging from German romanticism to the Russian soul, from American musical comedy to French melody, from Italian opera to Argentinian tango and Gypsy songs. The opening night is extended by the Guinguette du Chambertin, Place des Marronniers in Gevrey-Chambertin, combining live concert, local gastronomy and wine tasting from the Côte de Nuits.
The autumn weekend offers on October 2 a show "Tango and French Song", on October 3 a concert by the Psophos Quartet, and on October 4 a trio for clarinet, cello and piano.

Musical excellence in the heart of the vineyards
Since 1988, the Musique au Chambertin Festival has brought together world-renowned musicians every late August in the wine-producing villages of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in Gevrey-Chambertin, the festival has gradually expanded to the neighboring communes of Marsannay-la-Côte, Brochon, Fixin, and Vosne-Romanée, with a closing concert at the prestigious Château du Clos de Vougeot.
A demanding classical program
The program focuses on classical music in all its forms: piano recitals, string quartets, chamber music, baroque concerts, and tango. Guest artists are chosen for their excellence and musical curiosity: pianists, quartets, baroque ensembles, and tango musicians take to the stage. In 2024, the 36th edition featured 11 concerts; in 2025, 7 exceptional concerts were scheduled.
Historic venues
What makes Musique au Chambertin unique is the harmony between the music and the venues. Concerts take place in wine estates, Romanesque churches, and historic cellars, where the natural acoustics of ancient stone enhance the performances. The closing concert at the Château du Clos de Vougeot, an emblematic monument of Burgundy wine country, is the highlight of each edition.
Music and wine tasting
True to the Burgundian spirit, the festival pairs its concerts with wine tastings offered by partner wine estates. This alliance between musical art and wine art offers festival-goers a complete sensory experience, in the intimate setting of the most beautiful estates of the Côte de Nuits.
