Wine and gastronomic festival under the Halles of Nuits-Saint-Georges
The Fête du Vin Bourru takes place every third weekend of October under the Halles of Nuits-Saint-Georges, a historic site in this small wine-growing town on the Côte de Nuits. Organized by the Association La Cabotte with the support of the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Departmental Council of Côte-d'Or, this festival celebrates 'vin bourru', this cloudy wine still undergoing fermentation that is traditionally tasted in the autumn, just after the grape harvest.
The heart of the festival beats under the Chapiteau Gourmand, a covered area of 150 m² adjacent to the Halles, where visitors can taste Burgundian specialties selected from exhibitors: snails, freshly cut Comté cheese, crusty bread, 'vin bourru' or fruit juices. The festival also offers activities dedicated to the art of well-being and sharing, focusing on gastronomy, art, and tasting the year's vintage.
Each edition highlights a guest who shares their passion for the terroir and heritage with the public. In 2025 (37th edition), the guest of honor was the Regional Natural Park of Morvan and the Grand Site de France Bibracte — Morvan des Sommets, which offered culinary workshops, including making flour and tasting Gaulish soup around a cauldron.
The Fête du Vin Bourru is a free event open to all, true to the popular and convivial spirit of Burgundian wine festivals. The Halles of Nuits-Saint-Georges, the town's historic covered market, offer an authentic setting for this celebration of the terroir, attracting thousands of visitors each year to discover or rediscover 'vin bourru' and the flavors of Burgundy.
The 38th Fête du Vin Bourru will be held on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th, 2026, under the Halles de Nuits-Saint-Georges, organized by the Association La Cabotte. Free entry, on the theme « Couleurs de l'Automne » (Colors of Autumn).
The Association La Cabotte is organizing the 38th edition of the Fête du Vin Bourru on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th, 2026, under the Halles de Nuits-Saint-Georges, with the support of the city of Nuits-Saint-Georges and the Conseil départemental de la Côte-d'Or. Over two days, this autumnal festival celebrates vin bourru — this still cloudy wine in the process of fermentation, tasted just after the grape harvest — around gastronomy, art, and sharing. The 2026 vintage is themed « Couleurs de l'Automne » (Colors of Autumn). Entry is free.
This year, the festival unfolds across four free-access areas: the Grand Marché des Terroirs under the Halles, the Chapiteau Gourmand, the Parvis des Halles, and the Salle des Fêtes.
Around thirty exhibitors present wines from all over France (vineyards of Bourgogne, Bordeaux, Champagne…), liqueurs, spirits, and gourmet products: foie gras from Sud-Ouest, local snails, cured meats, Jura cheeses, and Bresse chickens.
On-site tasting and dining area, notably featuring the Cîteauflette.
Entertainment and artisans bring the square to life throughout the weekend.
Exhibition « Artistes sur la Route des Grands Crus » (Artists on the Route des Grands Crus) bringing together about fifteen artists with eclectic styles, some working in front of the public, on the theme « Couleurs de l'Automne » (Colors of Autumn).
The 2026 guest of honor will be unveiled shortly by the organization.
The festival takes place under the Halles of Nuits-Saint-Georges, town center (21700).
