The greatest wine and gastronomic weekend in Burgundy, centered around the Hospices de Beaune Wine Sale
The Trois Glorieuses de Beaune are the most prestigious annual event in the Burgundy vineyard. Established in 1934 by the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, in reference to the Three Glorious Days of the July Revolution of 1830, these three days celebrate the greatness of Burgundy wines every third weekend in November. The event was created in a context of economic crisis to boost the reputation and sales of Burgundy wines after the 1929 crash.
On Saturday evening, the festivities begin with the Chapter of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin at the Château du Clos de Vougeot. This gala dinner, held in evening attire, brings together several hundred guests in the historic castle grounds. The induction of new knights, Burgundian songs, and speeches punctuate this festive and solemn evening, accompanied by the finest vintages from the Côte de Nuits.
On Sunday, the central event of the Trois Glorieuses takes place under the Halles de Beaune: the famous Hospices de Beaune Wine Sale. This charity auction, whose first public edition dates back to 1859, sells wines from the Hospices de Beaune estate, accumulated from donations since the founding of the Hospices by Nicolas Rolin in 1443. Organized by Sotheby's since 2021, this sale attracts buyers from all over the world and serves as a benchmark for Burgundy wine prices.
On Monday, the Trois Glorieuses conclude with the Paulée de Meursault, a traditional winegrowers' banquet where each guest brings their best bottles to share. This convivial meal, inherited from winegrowing traditions, is an opportunity to taste exceptional wines in a festive and good-natured atmosphere, marking the end of an exceptional weekend.
The 166th edition of Les Trois Glorieuses de Beaune will take place from Saturday, November 14 to Monday, November 16, 2026, centered around the 166th Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction, whose charity auction will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, under Les Halles. This edition's traditional "charity barrel" will be dedicated to the fight against rare diseases.
As every third weekend of November, Beaune and the Côte de Beaune host Les Trois Glorieuses, the highlight of the Burgundian wine year. The 2026 edition takes place from Saturday, November 14 to Monday, November 16, 2026.
The festivities open on Saturday evening with the Chapter of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin at Château du Clos de Vougeot: a gala dinner in evening wear, inductions of new knights, Burgundian songs and speeches, within the historic walls of the castle.
The heart of Les Trois Glorieuses takes place under Les Halles de Beaune with the famous Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction, a charity auction organized by Sotheby's. For 2026, the "charity barrel" (Presidents' barrel) will be dedicated to the fight against rare diseases, with candidate associations able to submit their applications until June 15, 2026. The weekend is accompanied by public events in Beaune city center (musical and folk groups, illuminations of emblematic sites, tastings, domain open houses, half-marathon in the vineyards on Saturday).
Les Trois Glorieuses concludes on Monday with the Paulée de Meursault, a traditional winegrowers' banquet where each guest brings their best bottles to share, marking the end of an exceptional weekend.
The events take place in several towns on the Côte de Beaune:
