Fenêtres sur Courts — edition 2026
The 31st edition of Fenêtres sur Courts, Dijon's international short film festival, takes place from November 14 to 21, 2026, across nine cultural venues in the Dijon metropolitan area. A week of screenings, four competitions (regional, francophone, European, and international), and thematic sessions: Queer Short Films, Morocco Focus, Breaking Bad concert-screening, and Animation Night.
Fenêtres sur courts returns from November 14 to 21, 2026, for its 31st edition. Organized by the Plan9 association in partnership with the atheneum (Université Bourgogne Europe), the festival hosts its program in nine cultural venues across Dijon and its metropolitan area (Cinéma Pathé Dijon, Auditorium, La Minoterie, La Vapeur, the atheneum, Le Cèdre, the brasserie Un Singe en Hiver, and a preview on November 5 at Cinéma L'Empire in Auxonne).
Four Official Competitions
The festival features four competitions: the regional competition (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Sunday, November 15), the francophone "Humour & Comedy" competition (opening November 14, rebroadcast November 21), the European competition featuring four programs representing 12 countries (November 17-18), and the international "Genre Films" Horror/Gore competition, restricted to ages 12 and up (Thursday, November 19).
Thematic Sessions
These are complemented by numerous thematic sessions: Minot'animé for young audiences and families (Sunday, November 15 at La Minoterie), a Queer Short Films evening (November 16, with Magna Vox and the Centre LGBTQIA+ BFC), a concert-screening of the "Fly" episode of Breaking Bad at La Vapeur (November 17), the High School and Student Film Competition (November 18, atheneum), Cinematic Curiosities with Un Singe en Hiver (November 18), a Morocco Focus at Le Cèdre (November 19), the Animation Night in three programs (November 20), and two "Humour & Comedy, European Style!" sessions compiling the best European comedies from the last 15 years (November 16 and 20). A pop-up bar will liven up the Cinéma Pathé every evening from November 16 to 21, featuring quizzes and screenings of music videos by regional artists. A study afternoon on diversity and inclusion in cinema is organized on November 18 with the Université Bourgogne Europe and the Université Marie et Louis Pasteur in Besançon. The closing ceremony on November 21 will award the Grand Prizes for the four competitions.

The meeting point for short films in Burgundy
Founded in 1995 by Didier Besnier, director of the Eldorado cinema, Fenêtres sur Courts has become over the years a major event in the regional and national film landscape. Organized by the association Plan9 since 2012, the festival is the only one in Burgundy to benefit from the recognition of the National Center for Cinema and the Moving Image.
Four competitions and discoveries
The festival offers four official competitions as well as out-of-competition screenings. Animated films, documentaries, fiction, experimental films: all genres of short films are represented. Each edition welcomes nearly 5,000 spectators in seven cultural venues in Dijon, confirming the public's enthusiasm for the short format.

Fenêtres sur Courts plays a role as a springboard for young directors, whether they are regional, national or international. The festival offers an exceptional showcase for often little-known works and contributes to the dissemination and promotion of short films to a wide audience.
