Foot race through the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune during the Wine Auction
The Semi-Marathon de la Vente des Vins de Beaune was born in 1986 at the initiative of the athletics section of the Société d'Émulation Beaunoise (S.E.B.). During this first edition, 450 runners set off on the rolling roads of the Côte de Beaune vineyards. Since then, the event has continued to grow, reaching a historic record of 2,475 runners in 2014 and now bringing together over 5,000 participants including the various events.
The half-marathon course (21.1 km) follows the characteristic rolling roads of the Côte de Beaune, crossing the most prestigious villages and appellations of Burgundy: Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, and Monthélie. This route, modified in 2001 to offer an even more spectacular course, allows runners to discover exceptional wine landscapes while measuring themselves against the slopes of the Burgundy hills.
In addition to the half-marathon, the event offers 'Les Foulées' (10.4 km), a more accessible race that allows a wider audience to join the celebration. Both races share part of the common course through the vineyards before separating. Refreshment points are available along the course, and the finish line is in Beaune in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
The Semi-Marathon de la Vente des Vins is part of the festivities of the Hospices de Beaune Wine Auction and the Trois Glorieuses. The race takes place on Saturday, the day before the Wine Auction, and contributes to the buzz that takes over Beaune during this exceptional weekend. Runners from all over France — mainly from Burgundy, Franche-Comté, Île-de-France, and Rhône-Alpes — take the opportunity to attend the weekend's festivities.
The 39th edition of the Beaune Wine Auction Half-Marathon will be run on Saturday, November 14, 2026, as part of the festivities of the Beaune Hospices Wine Auction. More than 5,000 participants are expected on the hilly roads of the Côte de Beaune vineyards (Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Monthélie).
For its 2026 edition, the Beaune Wine Auction Half-Marathon will be held on the weekend of November 13 and 14, alongside the traditional Beaune Hospices Wine Auction. The main events (half-marathon and Foulées Beaunoises) take place on Saturday, November 14, in the afternoon.
The 2026 program offers several races: the Half-Marathon (21.1 km), the Foulées Beaunoises (10.4 km), a night run, youth races, hikes, and a canicross. The half-marathon route crosses the most prestigious appellations of Burgundy, on the hilly slopes of the Côte de Beaune.
Registration opens on July 1, 2026, online via Chrono Course (link on the official website), on-site on Friday and Saturday morning, or by paper form addressed to the City of Beaune. The number of bibs is limited.
