Ecological Thought Encounters
Three days of debate on ecological transition in Cluny (Saône-et-Loire)
2026
About Ecological Thought Encounters
Since 2023, Les Rencontres des pensées de l'écologie have brought together researchers, activists, elected officials, and journalists in Cluny to discuss the ecological transition. Over three days, round tables, informal talks, and workshops explore ways to overcome barriers between those involved in environmental transformation, all without partisan labels. The event is co-organized by the Association des rencontres de Cluny and the Fondation pour l'écologie politique, with partners including La Fabrique écologique, La Fabrique des Transitions, and the newspaper La Croix.
Ecological Thought Encounters — edition 2026
The fourth edition, "Cluny 4", takes place from November 13 to 15, 2026, at the Arts et Métiers campus in Cluny. Around fifteen round tables, discussions, and workshops will explore the barriers to ecological transformation, covering topics such as independent media, housing, energy, and landscapes. Sociologist Dominique Méda, historian Christophe Bonneuil, and journalist Fabienne Le Mahieu (La Croix) will open the event, while union leader Sophie Binet, entrepreneur Inès Seddiki, Lyon mayor Grégory Doucet, and journalist Eric Aeschimann will close it.
