Novosonic — edition 2026
From September 15th to 17th, 2026, the Atheneum will host the 23rd edition of Novosonic on the Dijon campus. Featuring 18 bands and artists ranging from rap to post-rock, the performances will be spread across the Atheneum's main hall, courtyard, and hill, as well as the Esplanade Erasme, the Droit-Lettres library, and the Montmuzard university restaurant. Admission is free.

The Atheneum, the cultural center of the Université Bourgogne Europe, is hosting 18 bands and artists over three days, with performances running from 12:30 PM to 11:30 PM depending on the day. The lineup spans rock, rap, electro, pop, folk, darkwave, and dub trap. Lunchtime concerts will be held at the Montmuzard university restaurant and on the Atheneum hill, while evening shows will take place at the Droit-Lettres library, the Atheneum hall and courtyard, and the Esplanade Erasme. Refreshments and fast food will be available on-site.
A €500 springboard prize
The call for applications for this 23rd edition is open from April 23rd to May 25th, 2026, with the final selection on May 27th. It is open to artists residing in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region performing sets of up to 40 minutes. The winner will receive the 2026 Novosonic Prize, a €500 award, and a residency at the Atheneum for the 2026-2027 season.

The back-to-school festival on campus
Novosonic is the major musical event of the back-to-school season on the Dijon campus of the University of Burgundy. For over twenty years, this free festival has brought together students and the general public for concerts by emerging regional bands. The event is organized by the Atheneum, the university's cultural center, which uses live music as a vector for meeting and celebration.
A springboard for emerging artists
Novosonic's unique feature is giving a stage to up-and-coming artists. More than fifteen regional bands perform at each edition, offering a unique showcase for emerging talent from Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Rock, electro, rap, techno: all current music genres are represented, reflecting the diversity of the local music scene.
