An itinerant festival between heritage and nature

Entre Cour et Jardins is an open-air performing arts festival that has existed for over twenty years. Led since 2019 by Le Dancing — National Choreographic Development Center (CDCN) Dijon Bourgogne-Franche-Comté —, it offers unique artistic experiences in places usually inaccessible to the public: courtyards of private mansions, secret gardens, remarkable natural spaces, and third places.

Three weekends, three territories

Since its recent editions, the festival unfolds over three weekends in September and October, investing three different territories. The 2025 edition featured a first weekend in the Gardens of Barbirey-sur-Ouche, a second in the Grésilles district of Dijon, and a third at Le Maquis and Lac Kir in Dijon. This organization helps build connections between historical heritage, nature, and urban neighborhoods.

Dance, theater, music, and visual arts

The program mixes contemporary dance, theater, music, visual arts, and plastic arts, with particular attention to dance, the CDCN's core discipline. Artists create pieces specifically designed for the venues, playing with the architecture, landscape, and atmosphere of each space to offer singular performances.

A festival created by Frédéric Bonnemaison

The festival was created by Frédéric Bonnemaison and is part of the dissemination and choreographic creation mission carried out by Le Dancing. By highlighting emerging local artists and territorial artistic residencies, Entre Cour et Jardins contributes to the influence of contemporary creation in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.
