Around forty free concerts in the city center on June 21, 2026
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 11:55 PM, Valence's city center will come alive with music, thanks to open stages organized by the City of Valence and local merchants. Sounds of pop, rock, jazz, reggae, rap, funk, electro, and dance will echo from square to square, performed by both amateur and professional musicians and dancers. Everything is free and takes place outdoors.
Three official city music stages
Pop, rock, hip-hop, and funk sounds will resonate from 6:00 PM to midnight across three official stages. In front of the Fontaine Monumentale, eleven acts will take the stage, ranging from the chanson-pop of Raphael to the pop-rock of Deca'danse, including jazz from Jazz Corner, Groove Machine, and La petite fanfare, as well as rock from Mysticalls and Minuit du Mat. At the Place de la Gare, the evening opens with the jazz-blues of Esprit Jazz, moves into the reggae of Kal Fazas et le Loubââ and Akylisso, and closes with the ska-rock of Men In Ska. At the Place du Général Leclerc, variety music gives way to the rap-pop of Le Seph, the rap of Silver Straw Gang, the afro-pop of NIA, and DJ sets by Dj'Ken's and Charly Madea until midnight.
Dance at the Place de la Liberté
From 5:45 PM to 11:10 PM, the Place de la Liberté is dedicated to dance associations and companies, featuring everything from country and flamenco to modern jazz and Tahitian dance: Thelma Flamenco, Country Rhone Valley, Espace danse Les Cygnes, El patio flamenco, Latin addiction danse & fitness, Sundial Crew, Flamenco La Triana, and Tamure Montélier will take turns on stage.
La Nuit du Piano at the Musée de Valence
Les Amateurs virtuoses are back for their now-traditional Fête de la Musique, in partnership with the City of Valence. In the courtyard of the Musée de Valence, "La Nuit du Piano" will take the form of a five-hour musical marathon starting at 6:00 PM: fifteen musicians from across France will revisit the great classical composers—Mozart, Bach, Brahms, Schumann, Ravel, Debussy, Gershwin, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov—while expanding the repertoire to include jazz covers and arrangements of film and video game music.
Techno and dub at the Champ de Mars
At the Champ de Mars, the Mistral Palace is setting up an electro and dub evening starting at 7:00 PM, in partnership with the City of Valence. At the Kiosque Peynet, the Still Diggin DJs will open the night with hip-hop, groove, and electro before handing over to Jo Kovaa, Penzer, and Mylacid for techno, acid, and hypnotic industrial beats. Opposite the Lycée Émile Loubet, Dreadlyon Hi-Fi & Friends will deploy their dub, roots, reggae, and steppas sound system until midnight. Refreshments will be available on-site; in case of rain, the event will move to the Mistral Palace starting at 9:00 PM.
Stages hosted by merchants and associations
Concerts and DJ sets will follow one another in front of the terraces of restaurants at the Place Latour-Maubourg and the Place de la Pierre, as well as on the Rue Dauphiné, Rue Vernoux, and at the very beginning of the Rue Madier-de-Montjau. On the Rue Gaston-Rey, the community bar Le Cause toujours will host an open stage for all music lovers who haven't yet dared to take the leap. A batucada band will also be roaming the pedestrian streets of the city center.
