A unique fair between history and imagination

Normannia is much more than just a fair: it's a true immersion into medieval and fantasy worlds, where history meets imagination for a weekend at the Parc des Expositions de Rouen. Organized by the Fédération Française Médiévale (FFM), the event brings together a family and passionate audience each year in February, from curious novices to seasoned reenactors, as well as cosplayers and fantasy literature lovers.

Nearly 300 exhibitors and artisans

The heart of Normannia beats to the rhythm of its immense medieval-fantasy market. Nearly 270 to 300 exhibitors and artisans offer a varied and high-quality selection: historical and fantasy costumes, collectible armor and weapons, handmade jewelry, textiles and embroidery, leather goods, illuminations, candles, natural soaps, artisanal beauty products, fantasy books and comics, board and role-playing games, figurines, cosplay accessories, and much more. Each stand is an invitation to travel through time or imagination.

Over 60 activities for all ages

Normannia offers a rich and varied program of activities that delights all audiences:

  • Combat Clash: an armored combat tournament where fighters compete for the title of Normannia champion, in an impressive display of strength and technique
  • The grand cosplay competition: open to all ages and skill levels, this competition rewards the most original costumes in various thematic categories, judged by professional cosplayers
  • Concerts and live shows: medieval, folk, and fantasy music groups, comedic sketches, fire and juggling shows
  • Participatory workshops: introduction to calligraphy, witches' workshop, potion making, archery, foam sword fighting for children
  • Conferences and signings: authors of medieval and fantasy literature, illustrators, historians, and specialists
  • Creatures and characters: dragons, goblins, living trees, and fantasy monsters populate the aisles of the fair for the delight of visitors

An event rooted in Normandy

The choice of Rouen as the host city is no coincidence. As the historical capital of Normandy, Rouen boasts exceptional medieval heritage—from Notre-Dame Cathedral to the Aître Saint-Maclou, including the Gros-Horloge and the half-timbered streets of the historic center. Normannia is part of this tradition by celebrating medieval history and imagination in a setting that naturally echoes them. The Parc des Expositions, located in Grand-Quevilly on the outskirts of Rouen, offers a space of over 10,000 m² perfectly suited to the scale of the event.

Remarkable growth

Since its first edition in 2019, Normannia has continued to grow. From a few thousand visitors in its early days, the fair has reached nearly 20,000 visitors in its recent editions, confirming the public's enthusiasm in Normandy and beyond for this unique event. The Fédération Française Médiévale, which also organizes other medieval fairs in France, brings its expertise and network to make Normannia a national reference event in the medieval-fantasy field.
