The unmissable meeting for Japanese and geek pop culture in Normandy
Chibi Rouen is much more than just a convention: it's a true celebration of Japanese and geek pop culture in the heart of Normandy. Every autumn, the Parc des Expositions de Rouen transforms into a vibrant universe where manga, anime, cosplay, video games, Japanese music, and traditional Japanese culture meet in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Chibi Rouen unfolds its program around four main thematic areas:
Each year, Chibi Rouen invites mangakas, French and Japanese voice actors, illustrators, YouTubers, and personalities from the anime and manga world for conferences, signing sessions, and meet-and-greets with the public. Hands-on workshops—manga drawing, cosplay making, Japanese language initiation, karaoke—allow visitors to actively immerse themselves in Japanese culture.
The large market at Chibi Rouen brings together dozens of exhibitors offering manga, figurines, merchandise, clothing, cosplay accessories, Japanese crafts, prints, jewelry, plush toys, and derivative products from the anime and manga universe. Enthusiasts can find both rare items and new releases.
Designed for all audiences, Chibi Rouen welcomes seasoned fans, the curious, and families alike. The event offers spaces adapted for children and a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a place for intergenerational sharing around a common passion for Japanese and geek culture.
The future of Chibi Rouen remains uncertain for 2026. The partnership between the association Swift Events, founded by Keyvan Estermann and organizer of the event since 2019, and Rouen Expo Événements, manager of the Parc des Expositions, has not been renewed. Both parties have failed to reach an agreement allowing the festival to continue in its current form.
Should an edition take place, fans of Japanese and geek pop culture could find the ingredients that made Chibi Rouen successful: cosplay contests, gaming area, concerts, participatory workshops, traditional Japanese culture hall, specialized exhibitors, and notable guests.
Information about a potential 2026 edition will be communicated on the official website and social media of Chibi Rouen.
