Valuing Territoire de Belfort Craftsmanship
The Open Doors to Craftsmanship in Giromagny is one of the major events for showcasing the artisanal know-how of the Territoire de Belfort. Organized by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in partnership with the Giromagny town hall and the Community of Communes of Vosges du Sud, this free event offers an exceptional showcase for local and regional artisans. It is held at the Espace de la Tuilerie, a well-served multi-purpose hall in the heart of the town.
A Quality Craft Market
The event brings together carefully selected artisans in five main categories:
- Housing: carpenters, joiners, electricians, plumbers, and building trades artisans presenting their work and expertise
- Beauty: hairdressers, beauticians, and wellness practitioners highlighting their techniques and products
- Art Trades: potters, jewelers, sculptors, stained glass artists, and other creators of unique objects
- Decoration: artisans offering handmade decorative items, furniture, textiles, and lighting
- Gastronomy: artisan bakers, confectioners, charcuterie makers, and local producers with tastings
The Careers Forum, a Springboard for Young People
One of the unique features of the Open Doors to Craftsmanship is the inclusion of a Careers Forum alongside the fair. This forum, held on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, invites young people seeking professional guidance to meet representatives from the Chamber of Trades, partner vocational high schools, and the Compagnons du Devoir. They can discover the diversity of artisanal trades, available training, and career prospects in the sector.
Exhibitions, Demonstrations, and Activities
Artisans actively participate in animating the event by offering live demonstrations of their skills. Woodturning, leatherwork, jewelry making, or stained glass assembly: visitors can observe the precise gestures of the artisans and interact with them. Gastronomic tasting areas also allow visitors to sample local produce. Admission is completely free for everyone.
