Born in 1990 from the desire to bring together neighborhood associations and communities of Audincourt around a common cultural project, the Rencontres et Racines festival has become, in over thirty-five years, a major event on the music scene of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. In 2025, it welcomed a record of 43,500 spectators.
An associative village at the heart of Parc Japy
Beyond the concerts, Rencontres et Racines is above all an associative village bringing together over 70 cultural and charitable associations on the Japy site in Audincourt. This village offers a true world tour of encounters and flavors: world cuisines, crafts, information stands, participatory workshops, and awareness spaces.
An eclectic and committed musical program
The Rencontres et Racines program blends reggae, dub, chanson, hip-hop, world music, and hybrid projects that dialogue without stylistic borders. The festival welcomes internationally renowned artists alongside promising discoveries and regional groups. Among the artists who have marked previous editions: Dub Inc, Tiken Jah Fakoly, Amadou & Mariam, Biga*Ranx, Flavia Coelho.
A popular and committed festival
True to its founding values of tolerance, exchange, and fraternity, Rencontres et Racines is a popular festival, accessible and open to all. Organized by the Ville d'Audincourt, it benefits from strong territorial roots and remarkable civic engagement. The pricing policy remains voluntarily accessible (3-day pass at 40 € in pre-sale, free for children under 12).
An exceptional setting
The Parc Japy, in the heart of Audincourt, offers a green and friendly setting to welcome festival-goers. The stages are set up in this historic park, on the banks of the Doubs, creating a warm atmosphere conducive to encounters and celebration.
