Edition 2026

Scènes d'Automne — edition 2026

The fourteenth edition of Scènes d'Automne will take place in September 2026 at the Théâtre d'Auxerre. Organized by the Amis du Théâtre d'Auxerre, these amateur theatre meetings will bring together a new selection of regional companies for two days of free performances, just before the official season opens.

2026 Edition – Fourteenth amateur theatre meeting

The Scènes d'Automne 2026 return in September to the Théâtre d'Auxerre for a new festive and free edition. The Amis du Théâtre d'Auxerre have selected about ten amateur companies from the Yonne and neighboring departments to present their performances over two days.

As every year, the final program and the list of participating companies will be announced before the festival. This autumn event is the ideal opportunity to (re)discover theatre in a welcoming setting without ticketing constraints.

Amateur theatre gatherings since 2013

The Amis du Théâtre d'Auxerre have been organizing the Scènes d'Automne every September since 2013. The association, founded in 1991, supports the Théâtre d'Auxerre, a nationally recognized stage. With 290 members for the 2024-2025 season, it is run entirely by volunteers.

Free admission for all performances

All events hosted by the Amis du Théâtre are free, including the Scènes d'Automne. Admission is free, subject to availability. For performances in the studio, tickets are distributed half an hour before each show.

Around ten companies from Yonne and beyond

The number of troupes varies from year to year. In 2025, for the thirteenth edition, ten companies from Auxerre, Avallon, Sens, Semur-en-Auxois, Moutiers-en-Puisaye, and Maillot will perform over the two days.

  • Three performance spaces: the main auditorium, the studio, and the foyer bar
  • Shows ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes, depending on the company
  • Recommended age indicated for each show, ranging from 7 to 15 years old
  • A mix of classic repertoire and new creations: in 2025, featuring works by Beckett, Jean-Claude Grumberg, Agatha Christie, Gérard Sibleyras, Robert Thomas, and Stéphane Guérin

Two days of performances before the season opener

The festival takes place over a weekend in September, just before the official Théâtre d'Auxerre season begins. In 2025, the first performance starts at 2:30 PM on Saturday and the last at 9:00 PM; on Sunday, shows run from 2:00 PM to 7:15 PM.

Other events from the Amis du Théâtre

The association publishes the magazine Publics, which reviews the season's shows, organizes pre-show readings linked to three productions, and screens films selected with the Cinémanie association under the title "Ciné au Théâtre". Membership costs 14 € and grants access to reduced rates for the theatre's programme.

As of mid-August 2026, the dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced. The 2026-2027 season of the Théâtre d'Auxerre will be presented on Friday, September 4, 2026, at 7:00 PM, with free admission, and online ticket sales will open on Saturday, September 5, at 10:00 AM.
