Terralire 2026 — 8th edition in Albi on June 6 and 7
Organized by the Association Terre de Livres, the 8th edition of Terralire takes place on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the salle de Pratgraussals in Albi. The fair once again celebrates publishers and authors from the greater Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée region and gives the general public the opportunity to discover the richness of their catalogs.
Approximately 45 exhibitors — regional publishing houses, authors, and a partner bookstore — are expected over the two days. The program combines book signings, round tables hosted by Nane Vézinet, thematic conferences, children's activities, and the exceptional participation of the École Internationale du Manga et de l'Animation with a Live-Painting session on Sunday afternoon.
A regional and popular book festival
A fair resolutely focused on independent publishing from the South, Terralire highlights literary production rooted in the Occitan territory: novels, essays, art books, youth literature, works in Occitan language, and comic books. Admission is free, in line with previous editions (the 7th edition in May 2025 had already gathered a large audience in the same hall).

Terralire, the showcase of Occitan publishing
In the cultural landscape of Occitanie, independent publishers play an essential role in bringing literary creation, essays, beautiful books, and children's literature rooted in the territory to life. Terralire is their annual event in Albi, a salon open to all that celebrates the diversity and richness of the region's publishing output.
A salon at the heart of Albi's culture
Terralire takes place in the Pratgraussals hall, one of Albi's main venues for shows and cultural events. This versatile space, located not far from the historic center of the episcopal city, can accommodate a large number of publishers and visitors in a setting suitable for key cultural events.
The city of Albi, a UNESCO World Heritage site for its medieval city and Sainte-Cécile Cathedral, offers an exceptional setting for this salon that combines heritage and contemporary creation. Visitors can thus combine cultural discovery with exploration of regional publishing output.
Occitanie Publishers in the Spotlight
The unique feature of Terralire is that it brings together exclusively—or almost exclusively—publishers with an Occitan territorial base. From small artisanal structures to established regional publishing houses, all share the ambition to publish works that reflect and nourish the culture, landscapes, history, and languages of the South.
A wide variety of genres and formats can be found:
- Novels and short stories of fiction rooted in the Occitan landscapes and imagination
- Essays and non-fiction on the history, geography, architecture, and traditions of the South
- Art books and photography books showcasing the territories, nature, and heritage
- Children's literature to introduce the youngest to the culture and languages of Occitanie
- Books in the Occitan language, evidence of vibrant publishing in the regional language
- Comic books and graphic novels with a Southern imagination
Meetings, Signings, and Events
Beyond a simple bookstore, Terralire is a space for lively encounters. Authors are present at their publishers' stands for signing sessions and informal exchanges with readers. Round tables, conferences, and public readings punctuate the program, allowing for a deeper connection between creators and their audience.
Specific events for children and families are offered, with creative workshops, read-aloud sessions, and meetings with children's literature authors. The salon thus ensures it is accessible to all ages and all forms of literary curiosity.
A Free and Accessible Event for All
Admission to Terralire is free, making it one of the most accessible cultural events in the Tarn. This free admission is a strong choice by the organizers, who want literature and the discovery of Occitan publishers to be within everyone's reach, without financial barriers.
