Théâtre en Cour(s), live performance takes over Villeneuve-de-Berg

Théâtre en Cour(s) is a festival dedicated to contemporary theatre and street arts, based for over ten years in Villeneuve-de-Berg, a royal bastide in the south of Ardèche. The festival was built around a strong desire to promote live performance in rural areas and to democratize access to culture for all audiences.

Courtyards and gardens transformed into stages

The originality of the festival lies in its unusual performance venues. The shows take place in the inner courtyards and walled gardens of the bastide, creating a unique proximity between artists and spectators. This immersion in the architectural heritage of Villeneuve-de-Berg offers an intimate and poetic setting for the performances.

A multidisciplinary program

The festival offers a rich and varied program combining theatre, dance, music, singing, reading, poetry, storytelling, visual arts, clown, puppetry, and mime. The association Culture en Fait brings together proposals from professional artists and amateur troupes, fostering artistic crossovers and intergenerational encounters.

A festival at the heart of Ardèche's heritage

Villeneuve-de-Berg, a former royal bastide founded in the 13th century, offers an exceptional heritage setting for this festival. The medieval streets, shaded squares, and secret courtyards become the stage for unique artistic experiences. The festival actively contributes to the valorization of the heritage of this characterful village in the south of Ardèche.

An end-of-May event

The festival traditionally takes place on the last weekend of May, offering two days of shows and activities in a festive and popular atmosphere. The next edition is scheduled for May 30 and 31, 2026.
