Trail Urbain Verdunois: Running in the Heart of History

The Trail Urbain Verdunois has become an unmissable event for running and trail enthusiasts in the Meuse region. Every year in October, hundreds of runners set off through the streets of Verdun for a unique course combining sporting challenge and heritage discovery.

An Exceptional Urban Course

The route of the Trail Urbain Verdunois has been designed to offer participants an immersive experience in the heart of the city of Verdun. Runners will follow paths that pass through the most emblematic sites of the city:

  • La Citadelle Haute: the highest point of the course, offering a panoramic view of the city and the Meuse valley
  • The gardens of the Centre Mondial de la Paix: a green setting steeped in history at the foot of the former episcopal palace
  • The historic streets: a journey through Verdun's architectural heritage

Several Formats for All Levels

The event offers several distances suitable for all types of runners:

  • 8 km Trail: an intermediate format with 70 meters of positive elevation gain, ideal for a first trail experience
  • 3 km Kids Race: for U14 and U16 categories, an introduction to trail running in a safe environment
  • 1 km Young Athletes' Activity: for the little ones, a fun introduction to running
  • 10 km Popular Walk: for those who prefer to enjoy the course at their own pace

A Friendly and Festive Event

Beyond the competition, the Trail Urbain Verdunois is a moment of sharing and conviviality. An entertainment village welcomes participants and the public, with food stalls and activities for the whole family. The event benefits from the support of local institutions and Verdun sports associations.
