The Triathlon de Vierzon takes place every year in June at the Parc des Expositions de Vierzon, a town in the Cher (18) department located in the heart of France. Youth Duathlons: 6-9 years old and 10-13 years old

The 6-9 year old duathlon offers short distances allowing children to discover multi-sport events in a safe and fun environment: 200m run, 2km bike, then 200m run. The 10-13 year old duathlon progressively increases the distances (400m - 4km - 400m) to prepare young athletes for triathlon formats. These timed but non-competitive races emphasize fun, discovery, and encouragement, with medals awarded to all participants.

Triathlon XS and S: Individual and Relay Formats

The two main events of the Triathlon de Vierzon are the Triathlon XS (discovery format: 400m swim, 10km bike, 2.5km run) and the Triathlon S (sprint format: 750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run). These two triathlons can be competed in individually for experienced triathletes, or in a relay to allow teams of three people (one swimmer, one cyclist, one runner) to participate together. This relay option makes triathlon more accessible and promotes team spirit and camaraderie. The courses, fully secured and marked, use the roads and paths around the Parc des Expositions, offering varied and technical terrain.

Organization and Friendly Atmosphere

The organization of the Triathlon de Vierzon relies on the commitment of volunteers from the Vierzon Triathlon 18 club and the support of the town of Vierzon. The event takes place in a family-friendly and convivial atmosphere, far from the stress of major competitions. Transition areas are clearly marked, refreshments are generously provided (water, fruit, energy bars), and the welcome for participants is particularly warm. A triathlon village area allows companions to wait for the athletes in a pleasant setting, with a refreshment stand, entertainment, and screens broadcasting live results. The awards ceremony rewards the podiums of each category, as well as special prizes (sportsmanship, youngest participant, etc.).
