Latin American music and culture festival at the Vienne Antique Theatre
The Viva Latino Festival is an event dedicated to Latin American music, dance, and culture at the Vienne Antique Theatre. Created in 2023 by Los Production and Eldorado & Co, this open-air festival offers a six-hour festive evening mixing reggaeton, salsa, and cumbia concerts, dance performances, and DJ sets. The first festival dedicated to Latin sounds in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, it hosts international artists in a 1st-century Roman theatre.
Born in 2023, the Viva Latino Festival is the first festival entirely dedicated to Latin American music and culture in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Organized by Los Production and Eldorado & Co, this unique event takes place in the spectacular setting of the Vienne Antique Theatre, an architectural gem from the 1st century that can accommodate up to 7,500 spectators, for an unforgettable evening of music, dance, and celebration.
The concept of the Viva Latino Festival is ambitious: to pay homage to the extraordinary richness of Latin American music in all its diversity. From reggaeton to salsa, from cumbia to merengue, including bachata, Latin pop, and Latin urban music, the festival offers a complete panorama of the sounds that make Latin America and the whole world vibrate. Each edition highlights top international artists alongside emerging talents from the Latin scene.
For its first edition in June 2023, the festival made a strong impact by welcoming Colombian superstar Maluma — one of the most influential artists on the global reggaeton scene, with over a billion streams on Spotify — for his only date in France. Argentine singer Lali and Cuban group Los 4 completed an exceptional lineup, alongside Roberto Burgos, Charlotte, DJs Ls, and MC Sean Cortez who kept the atmosphere going all evening.
The Viva Latino Festival stands out for its immersive format: from 6 PM to midnight, festival-goers are plunged into a festive and warm atmosphere. The program alternates between live concerts, dance performances, and electrifying DJ sets, creating a continuous party vibe where the public is invited to dance and celebrate the Latin American joie de vivre. The infectious energy of the artists, the catchy rhythms, and the open-air setting of the ancient theatre contribute to a unique sensory experience.
After the success of its first edition, which attracted around 4,000 spectators, the Viva Latino Festival is gradually establishing itself as a must-attend event for Latin music lovers in the south-east of France. The festival contributes to enriching the summer programming of the Vienne Antique Theatre, already famous for hosting Jazz à Vienne, by adding a distinctly Latin and festive touch. Its ambition is to become the benchmark for Latin music festivals in France.
