The largest event in the West dedicated to artificial intelligence and data
Created in 2019 by Laval Mayenne Technopole, the West Data Festival is the largest event in Western France dedicated to artificial intelligence and data management. Every year in March, the Espace Mayenne in Laval hosts professionals, researchers, students, and the curious for three days of inspiring conferences, practical workshops, technological demonstrations, and concrete feedback from experience. The festival covers a wide range of themes: generative AI, cybersecurity, industry 4.0, no-code, augmented HR, and data-driven marketing.
Launched in 2019 by Laval Mayenne Technopole, the West Data Festival was born from the desire to raise awareness among companies in the Grand Ouest region about the challenges of data and artificial intelligence. In just a few editions, the event has established itself as the essential professional meeting place for anyone interested in the digital transformation driven by data and AI in Western France.
The West Data Festival stands out for the richness and diversity of its program, built around thematic conferences, practical workshops, feedback from companies that have deployed data and AI projects, technological demonstrations, and networking events. Each edition explores key themes: generative AI, AI agents, industry 4.0, cybersecurity, no-code, augmented human resources, data-driven commerce and marketing, and data for performance.
The festival primarily targets business leaders, digital transformation directors, data scientists, developers, IT managers, and public decision-makers. The first two days are dedicated to professionals, with a dense program of conferences and workshops. The third day is more broadly open to the general public, students, and the curious wishing to discover the concrete applications of AI and data.
Among the festival's flagship events are the Women in AI Award, which highlights the inspiring journeys of women driving artificial intelligence forward in France, and the AI Trial, a fun and stimulating exercise that examines the ethical and societal issues of these technologies. The After WDF, a festive and friendly evening, allows participants to extend discussions in a relaxed atmosphere conducive to networking.
The exhibition brings together dozens of exhibitors each year—startups, software publishers, consulting firms, research laboratories, and institutions—who present their solutions and innovations. Visitors can test tools, attend live demonstrations, and interact directly with the designers of data and AI solutions.
Despite disruptions related to the health crisis (the 2022 edition was split into two parts), the West Data Festival has experienced remarkable growth in terms of attendance, recognition, and program quality. Each year, the event confirms its status as the leading data and AI festival in the West, attracting an ever-larger audience and renowned national and international speakers. With over 2,200 visitors in the 2025 edition, the festival continues its ambitious development.
The 8th edition of the West Data Festival takes place from March 10 to 12, 2026, at the Espace Mayenne in Laval. Three days of conferences, workshops, demonstrations, and meetings to explore the latest advances in artificial intelligence and data management.
