The "A moi, conte deux mots !" festival is an annual event dedicated to the art of storytelling, organized by the association Autour du Conte in Privas, prefecture of Ardèche. Created in the mid-2010s, this intercultural festival invites young and old to travel through stories and the collective memory of here and elsewhere. For about ten days between the end of April and the beginning of May, professional storytellers, amateurs, and spectators gather for shows, open stages, and storytelling aperitifs in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

A festival dedicated to the art of storytelling in Ardèche
Led by the association Autour du Conte, the "A moi, conte deux mots !" festival has established itself as an unmissable event for lovers of spoken word and narrative in Ardèche. Every spring, the town of Privas welcomes storytellers from all over to share stories, legends, and tales from around the world in a resolutely intercultural approach.
A rich and varied program
The festival offers an eclectic program combining:

The festival notably collaborates with the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) as part of an ethnographic field internship on "Oral literature and body techniques," thus reinforcing the scientific and heritage dimension of the event.

In an intercultural approach, the festival is an invitation to travel and discover the collective memory of here and elsewhere. The stories cross borders, mixing Ardèche traditions, African tales, Eastern legends, and contemporary stories. The festival is aimed at all audiences, from the youngest to the oldest, in a spirit of sharing and transmission.

The festival takes place on the Place du Champ de Mars and in various locations in the town of Privas, prefecture of Ardèche. The storyteller Anne Hengy, founder of the association and based in Ardèche since 1998, leads this festival with passion and energy, opening imaginations to the magic of the spoken word.

The "A moi, conte deux mots !" festival returns to Privas in spring 2026 for a new edition dedicated to the art of storytelling and shared speech.

Access
The festival takes place in Privas (07000), Place du Champ de Mars and in various locations in the town.
- By car: From Valence (45 min), take the N102 towards Privas. From Montélimar (40 min), D104 then N102.
- By bus: Regular lines from Valence and Aubenas.
