Au Cœur de Cosne Festival

A festival born from associative passion

The Au Cœur de Cosne Festival was born in 2009 from the meeting between the MJC of Cosne-d'Allier and the theater company Le P'tit Bastringue. Together, these two structures imagined a unifying event, rooted in the local associative fabric, to promote the performing arts in the heart of Bocage Bourbonnais. Since its creation, the festival has continued to grow, becoming in sixteen editions an unmissable event in the cultural life of northern Allier.

Three days of multidisciplinary performances

Each year, on the first weekend of July, the festival transforms Cosne-d'Allier into an open-air stage. The Square d'Amtzell, the covered market, and the Le Bastringue hall host a rich and eclectic program: contemporary circus (contortion, acrobatics, balancing), street theater, rock and electro concerts, theatrical readings, and itinerant performances. Discovery workshops — circus, percussion, visual arts — allow children and families to get acquainted with artistic practices.

An accessible and friendly event

True to the spirit of the MJC, the Au Cœur de Cosne festival cultivates accessibility and friendliness. Most of the shows and activities are offered at very low prices or are free, in a warm and family atmosphere. Open-air cinema, shows for young audiences, and the associative refreshment stand complete a program designed to bring all generations together.

Strong territorial roots

Supported by a team of committed volunteers, the festival relies on a network of local partners — the town of Cosne-d'Allier, the ALSH leisure center, the 109 in Montluçon (contemporary music venue) — to present quality artists each year. This partnership network allows the festival to maintain artistic excellence while remaining deeply rooted in its territory, contributing to the animation and attractiveness of this small commune in the Allier.
