Babel Danse was born in 2003 within the MJC du Plateau in Saint-Brieuc. The festival carries an original artistic and cultural project: to use contemporary dance as a bridge between cultures, exploring a different theme or geographical area each year.

A thematic choreographic journey

Each edition of Babel Danse offers a choreographic journey around a theme or culture: the Caribbean in 2014, the colors of India and the world in 2015, and many other artistic destinations over the years. This thematic approach allows for the cross-pollination of traditional dances and contemporary creation, offering the public rich and surprising performances.

Performances, workshops, and meetings

The festival offers contemporary dance performances, practice workshops open to all, meetings with artists, and screenings. The MJC du Plateau, a major cultural player in the neighborhood, ensures active mediation with residents and schoolchildren.
