A Literary and Solidarity Event

For many years, the Amnesty International group of Bar-le-Duc / Commercy has organized its Book Fair at the Salle Dumas, in the heart of the upper town of Bar-le-Duc. This autumn event has become a must-attend for book lovers and bargain hunters of used books throughout the southern Meuse region.

Thousands of Books at Low Prices

The fair offers a wide selection of books covering all genres: novels, documentaries, children's books, paperbacks, thrillers, comic books, school books, and many more. Prices are deliberately kept very low to make reading accessible to everyone and encourage book reuse. It's the perfect opportunity to fill your library while doing a good deed.

A Commitment to Human Rights

The profits from the sale are entirely donated to Amnesty International to fund its actions in defense of human rights worldwide. Volunteers from the local group are present to inform the public about ongoing campaigns, offer petitions to sign, and sell Amnesty merchandise. The event is also an opportunity to raise public awareness about fundamental freedoms.

A Place Steeped in History

The Salle Dumas, located at Place Sainte-Catherine in the historic district of Bar-le-Duc, offers a friendly and spacious setting for this event. Visitors can browse tables filled with books in a warm and relaxed atmosphere, conducive to exchanges and discoveries.

A Free Event Open to All

Admission to the Book Fair is completely free. For two days, from 10 am to 6 pm, visitors of all ages can come and browse the shelves and leave with their finds. New volunteers are also welcome to join the local group's team and contribute to this wonderful solidarity adventure.
