The biggest beer festival in France since 2005
The Bières en Fête in Charleville-Mézières was born in 2005 from an initial attempt on the sidewalks of the Place Ducale. Driven by the association Bières en fête and the passion of its founder François and his volunteer friends, the event quickly established itself as the biggest beer festival in France and, above all, the friendliest. After a stint at the Parc des Expositions (2011) and the Mont-Olympe campsite (2021, due to health restrictions), the festival returned to the Place Ducale in 2022, its natural setting.
165 beers on tap: a unique originality
The originality of Bières en Fête lies in the fact that beer is mainly served on tap and not in bottles as in most beer festivals. The 2025 edition offers around 165 different beers from 57 craft breweries, with 77 exhibitors in total. From blondes to stouts, from IPAs to regional beers to the most daring creations, every visitor finds their delight in this exceptional and constantly renewed offering.
Four days of celebration on Pentecost weekend
Every year, the Pentecost weekend rhymes with Bières en Fête in Charleville-Mézières. For four days, the majestic Place Ducale transforms into a huge open-air brewery. The atmosphere is festive and popular: concerts by local bands during the day, DJ sets in the evening, the traditional waiters' race on Sunday, and the Gambrinus challenge on Monday for aspiring brewers. Entry to the festival is free and open to all.
An unmissable event in the region
With 40,000 to 60,000 visitors over four days, Bières en Fête has become an unmissable event in Ardennes life. The festival showcases the know-how of French craft brewers and helps to discover the country's brewing richness. It attracts a family and intergenerational audience, from discerning amateurs to the simply curious, in an atmosphere of conviviality and sharing that has earned the event its reputation.
