Clermont Bière Fest: Craft Beer at Polydome

For two editions, the Polydome de Clermont-Ferrand hosted the Clermont Bière Fest every late September, a festival dedicated to craft beer. Organized by Clermont Auvergne Events (GL Events group) in partnership with l'Empire du Malt, the event had established itself as a key gathering for craft beer enthusiasts in the Clermont metropolitan area.

Over twenty craft breweries

Each edition brought together over twenty craft breweries from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and all over France, offering a wide variety of beers:

• Blondes and darks: classics revisited by artisan brewers
• IPAs: hoppy and aromatic India Pale Ales
• Stouts: dark beers with roasted aromas
• Seasonal beers: ephemeral creations and original blends
• Local beers: productions from Auvergne breweries

Tastings and workshops

The Clermont Bière Fest was not limited to tasting. A program of food and beer pairing workshops, led by experts, allowed visitors to discover the taste associations between craft beers and gastronomy. These educational workshops were aimed at both connoisseurs and novices.

Catering and food trucks

Selected food trucks offered quality catering in harmony with the brewing world:

• Truffade: the emblematic dish of Auvergne
• Burgers: gourmet and artisanal burgers
• Choucroute: the classic beer accompaniment
• And other street food specialties

Two festive evenings

Each edition offered two musical evenings:

• Friday evening: DJ set for a relaxed atmosphere
• Saturday evening: big Oktoberfest party with a live concert, such as the group LMZG (electro-swing) for a memorable dance evening

An accessible and friendly festival

Located at the Polydome, right in the heart of Clermont-Ferrand and accessible by tram, the festival was open to families with free entry for those under 18. The atmosphere was intended to be friendly and festive, inviting discovery and sharing around craft beer.

The end of the adventure

In May 2026, the organizers of the Clermont Bière Fest announced the end of the event. The official press release stated: « After two editions marked by conviviality, discoveries, and wonderful encounters, the Clermont Bière Fest is definitively bowing out. A page is turning for this event which brought together brewers, enthusiasts, and curious visitors around a shared desire: to share and celebrate beer culture. » The organizing team wished to thank the brewers, exhibitors, partners, teams, and visitors who contributed to these two editions. No new edition is scheduled for 2026 or beyond, although the return of the event remains possible one day if conditions allow.
