Donzy et Dragons

A festival born in 2023

Donzy et Dragons is organized by the Compagnie Les Volkanik, a performing arts association founded in Donzy in October 2022. The first edition took place from October 6 to 8, 2023, throughout the town, developed in partnership with the municipality, the local library, the middle school, and local businesses; the murder mystery kick-off was held at the school.

In 2025, the festival took over the village hall for two days, September 13 and 14, featuring its signature program: over forty board games, guided role-playing tables, and card games available for free, continuous play, open to all ages 6 and up.

2026: Three days and a live-action Cluedo in the village

In 2026, the festival expands to three days and takes its theatrical component to the next level. 'Very Cold Case', a medieval-fantasy live-action Cluedo written and performed by the company, moves out of the hall and into the streets of Donzy, following a route authorized by the town, with real actors playing the suspects.

Volunteer-run

The festival is entirely managed by the volunteers of the Compagnie Les Volkanik. The town of Donzy provides the village hall and authorizes the investigation route through the village. Admission is free; a refreshment bar run by the association helps fund the following year's event.
