Exhibition of artists from Auxerrois: painting, sculpture, photography and multidisciplinary arts
The Les 4'Arts association perpetuates a long artistic tradition in Auxerre. Originating from the Société Auxerroise des Arts founded in 1858, revived in 1981, and then renamed Les 4'Arts in January 2018, it now brings together around eighty artists from the Yonne region: painters, sculptors, photographers, illustrators, videographers, and collage artists.
Each autumn, the Les 4'Arts Autumn Exhibition celebrates visual arts over a weekend. Around fifty artists exhibit their works before a large audience, who come to discover paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, and collages. The event welcomes guest artists of honor, ensuring an openness to diverse and demanding artistic practices. Admission is free.
The 2025 edition of the Autumn Exhibition, the 35th of its kind, was held on October 18 and 19, 2025, at the freshly restored Vaulabelle hall (12 boulevard Vaulabelle). The guest artists of honor were pastellist Babette Rhodde and sculptor Jean-Pierre Robinet. Forty-six artists exhibited their creations in a bright space accessible to all.
In spring or summer, the association organizes the Quai des Arts, an original event that invites artists to exhibit outdoors in the streets of Auxerre, along the Yonne river. The public can stroll freely, discovering paintings, sculptures, and photographs in the open air. A “Summer of Artists” challenge allows members to paint the old streets of the city.
Beyond the Autumn Exhibition, Les 4'Arts organizes numerous exhibitions throughout the department: Saint-Germain Abbey, Château de Maulnes in Cruzy-le-Châtel, the Gothic hall of Vézelay, the cultural center of Gurgy, or the Amarin exhibition in Saint-Amarin (Haut-Rhin). The association also offers regular courses and workshops, allowing amateurs to improve and playing a structuring role in Auxerre's cultural life.
The 36th Autumn Exhibition of Les 4'Arts will be held on October 17 and 18, 2026, at the Vaulabelle hall in Auxerre. Around fifty artists from Yonne will exhibit paintings, sculptures, photographs, and drawings at this free and family-friendly event dedicated to local creation.
The Les 4'Arts association is preparing its 36th Autumn Exhibition for October 17 and 18, 2026, at the Vaulabelle hall (12 boulevard Vaulabelle, Auxerre), a renovated municipal hall that now hosts this annual event for artistic creation in Yonne. As every autumn, around fifty painters, sculptors, photographers, and illustrators will present their works to the public in an entirely free event open to all.
The guest artists of honor and the full program will be announced closer to the event. Throughout 2026, the association also organizes other events: the Quai des Arts, an open-air exhibition in the streets of Auxerre along the Yonne river (Sunday, September 6, 2026), as well as several exhibitions in the department (Gurgy cultural center, Vézelay Gothic hall, Château de Maulnes in Cruzy-le-Châtel).
