The largest electronic music festival in the Ain department
Electra by Blackstore is the largest electronic music festival in the Ain department. Created in 2024 in Bourg-en-Bresse, it brings together the finest DJs from the national and international electronic scene every year at the Ekinox complex in Ainterexpo. Produced by Blackstore, the event offers an immersive experience with a giant Boiler Room-style XXL stage, an outdoor village with street food and entertainment. Since its second edition in May 2025, the festival has established itself as a must-attend event for over 6,000 festival-goers.
Born from the ambition to fill a gap in the Bourg-en-Bresse music landscape, the Electra by Blackstore festival launched in November 2024. The idea took shape when the founders, after attending an electronic music night at the Amnésia club in Cap d'Agde, witnessed the public's enthusiasm for top DJs and realised that Bourg-en-Bresse had no major event dedicated to electronic music. After two years of preparation, the gamble paid off and the first edition attracted nearly 4,000 people to Hall A at Ainterexpo.
The festival takes place at the Ekinox complex, located within the Ainterexpo exhibition centre, at 25 avenue Maréchal Juin in Bourg-en-Bresse. This modular venue, equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, provides an ideal setting for an event of this scale. The configuration allows for a giant Boiler Room-inspired XXL stage, immersing the audience in the heart of the action, as close to the artists as possible.
Outside, a festival village completes the experience with street-food stands, bars, entertainment and chill-out areas. The whole setup creates an immersive atmosphere that goes beyond a simple concert to deliver a true sensory experience.
From its very first edition in November 2024, Electra by Blackstore made a strong impression with a line-up featuring DJ Bens, an iconic figure of the French urban scene, Sound of Legend, known for hits "Blue", "Komodo" and "Heaven", along with Oriska, Maeva Carter and Nils Van Zandt, a Tomorrowland regular.
The second edition, moved to May 2025, stepped up another gear with Blasterjaxx and Noisecontrollers, both ranked in the Top 100 DJs, alongside Floorfilla, Siks, Morgan Nagoya, Jordan Patural, Ewave and Mathieu C. The warm-up was handled by Lola from 5pm.
For the 2026 edition, the festival expands to two days on 22 and 23 May, with a programme headlined by Laurent Wolf, Vladimir Cauchemar and Mattn, and an expected capacity of over 6,000 festival-goers.
Electra by Blackstore is part of the cultural momentum of Bourg-en-Bresse and the Ain department. By attracting a young audience from across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the festival boosts the city's profile and the local economy. The event benefits from the support of Ainterexpo and partners such as Ixina, which launched the "DJ Contest by Ixina" in 2026, a platform designed to spotlight the next generation of DJs.
The festival is open from age 13 (with conditions) and accepts bank card, Apple Pay and Pass Culture payments, reflecting its commitment to welcoming all audiences.
