Eurocuivres: When Brass Resonates in the Pays de Montbéliard
Since 1998, the Eurocuivres festival has made the Pays de Montbéliard vibrate to the sound of brass. This unique event combines a free concert festival open to all and an international music academy led by nationally and internationally renowned teachers and musicians.
A Festival of Free Concerts
For ten days in July, the festival offers about fifteen high-quality free concerts in various locations in the Pays de Montbéliard. The programs mix classical repertoire for brass, chamber music, contemporary works, and popular arrangements, performed by renowned solo artists and international ensembles.
The concerts take place in diverse and sometimes unusual venues:
- Temples and churches: For their exceptional acoustics and heritage setting
- Concert halls: The Théâtre de Montbéliard and the Salle des Fêtes
- Outdoors: Parks, squares, and courtyards of historic buildings
The Eurocuivres Academy: Learn from the Best
The academy is the beating heart of Eurocuivres. Each year, over 100 participants — children, teenagers, amateur adults, and semi-professionals — from all over France and abroad attend masterclasses, individual lessons, and ensemble workshops led by conservatory professors, orchestra musicians, and international soloists.
Instruments in the Spotlight
The festival celebrates the entire brass family:
- Trumpet and cornet
- French horn
- Trombone
- Tuba and euphonium
- Percussion (as a complement)
26 Editions and International Reach
With its 26th edition in 2025, Eurocuivres has established itself as a benchmark in the European brass music festival scene. The event contributes to the cultural influence of the Pays de Montbéliard and attracts an audience of music lovers and musicians far beyond the borders of Franche-Comté.
