Femmes en Campagne in Neuvy-le-Roi

Femmes en Campagne is a cultural and committed festival that takes place every year from late February to mid-March in Neuvy-le-Roi and neighboring towns in Gâtine and Choisilles, in Indre-et-Loire. Since its creation in 2012, this event has become a must-attend gathering in the cultural life of northern Touraine.

A festival committed to women's rights

Femmes en Campagne is part of a militant and artistic approach, placing the cause of women at the heart of its programming. The festival revolves around International Women's Rights Day on March 8th, offering a time for reflection, creation, and sharing. The white ribbon, an international symbol worn by participants, signifies the rejection of violence against women.

A rich and varied program

Each edition offers more than forty events spread over two weeks: photographic and artistic exhibitions, creative workshops, film screenings, meetings and conferences, live performances, and concerts. The diversity of artistic forms allows it to reach a wide audience, from the youngest to the oldest.

The Marché des Filles (Girls' Market)

A highlight of the festival, the Marché des Filles brings together local female creators, artisans, and producers in a friendly market that celebrates feminine know-how and Touraine's local products.

Strong territorial roots

Supported by the municipality of Neuvy-le-Roi and the Communauté de communes de Gâtine et Choisilles – Pays de Racan, the festival involves numerous associative and institutional partners. Events are held in various locations across the territory, notably the salle Armand Moisant in Neuvy-le-Roi, but also in neighboring towns like Semblançay, thus creating a cultural network throughout the rural area.
