The 9th Art Celebrated in the Heart of Tours

À Tours de Bulles is the comic strip festival of the city of Tours, founded in 2001 by the association of the same name. For over twenty years, it has brought the city center to life with the 9th art every second weekend of September, in parallel with the European Heritage Days. Entirely free and driven by a team of passionate volunteers, the festival has become a must-attend event for comic strip lovers in Touraine.

A Rich and Varied Program for All Audiences

Each edition offers a complete program that celebrates comic strips in all their forms:

• Signings: dozens of authors, scriptwriters, and illustrators, both emerging and established, meet readers and sign their albums
• Drawing Workshops: workshops led by the POP workshop of Tours and invited authors, open to children and adults
• Illustrated Performances: live performances combining drawing, storytelling, and music, with special sessions for young audiences on Saturday and for all audiences on Sunday
• Exhibitions: original plates, retrospectives, and installations showcasing the universe of the invited authors
• Cinema Screenings: special sessions at Cinémas Studio related to comic strips, followed by meetings with the authors
• Children's Creation Workshop: dedicated space at the association's stand for the youngest

A Festival Rooted in Tours' Cultural Life

À Tours de Bulles benefits from the support of the City of Tours, Tours Métropole Val de Loire, and cultural partners such as Cinémas Studio and Sofia Action Culturelle. The festival is part of a network of literary and artistic events that make Tours a particularly dynamic city culturally. Its timing during the Heritage Days allows visitors to combine the discovery of the 9th art with that of the city's rich architectural heritage.

Over Twenty Years of Volunteer Passion

The À Tours de Bulles association is entirely run by volunteers. After a few years of development with events organized on Friday the 13th, the festival was restructured in 2005 to adopt its current format, with public events scheduled in September. This stability has allowed the festival to grow and build a loyal audience, from comic strip enthusiasts to families looking for a free and friendly cultural weekend.
