The Onzain Book and Painting Fair

Every first Sunday of October, the Arts & Culture à Onzain (A-C-O) association brings together authors, publishers, painters, and photographers in Onzain, a delegated commune of Veuzain-sur-Loire, in the Loir-et-Cher department. The inaugural event took place in 2016. The association is under the honorary presidency of filmmaker Coline Serreau.

Books and art in one space

Author stalls stand side-by-side with the displays of painters and photographers. Around thirty authors present a variety of works—including comics, novels, thrillers, non-fiction, fantasy, memoirs, poetry, and art books—and remain available for signings throughout the day. The fair also hosts one or more guests of honor, such as cartoonist Philippe Larbier, creator of "Les Petits Mythos," in 2021, and writer Françoise Benassis, a native of Veuves, in 2022.

The A-C-O Association

Registered with the Loir-et-Cher prefecture on January 2, 2017, under number W411004613, the association promotes intercultural arts—literary, pictorial, and photographic—and seeks to bridge the gap between cultural life and the local economy of Loir-et-Cher. It is chaired by Jean-Pierre Barré, an author of local narratives himself, assisted by Marcelle Janvier. Its headquarters are located at the Onzain town hall. The October fair is its flagship event, though additional literary gatherings centered on specific themes or authors may be organized throughout the year.
