Literary meeting in the heart of Sologne, between regional authors and reading enthusiasts
Every December, the Dhuizon Book Fair brings together about thirty authors and several regional publishing houses at the village hall of this Solognot village in Loir-et-Cher. From 10 am to 6 pm, visitors can meet writers, illustrators, and publishers, attend signing sessions, and discover a rich and varied literary offer. This friendly and free event, supported by the municipality, celebrates regional literature and creation in all its forms in an intimate and warm setting.
Nestled in the heart of Sologne, the small village of Dhuizon hosts a book fair every winter that has won over an audience of literature lovers from all over Loir-et-Cher and beyond. Organized by the Municipality of Dhuizon with the support of local associations, this literary event takes place at the village's village hall, offering a friendly and intimate setting conducive to exchanges between authors and readers.
The fair brings together about thirty authors with diverse universes—novelists, poets, local historians, nature story writers, children's illustrators, and enthusiasts of Solognot heritage—accompanied by four to five regional publishing houses. Visitors can discover the latest releases, get their favorite books signed, and interact directly with the creators. The program particularly highlights writers from the Centre-Val de Loire region and books dedicated to Sologne, its landscapes, its fauna, and its traditions.
Admission is free and the welcome is warm. A reading area is set up for children, with discovery workshops on books and illustration. A refreshment stand and light catering are available to extend the visit pleasantly. The book fair thus contributes to the cultural life of the commune and the influence of literary creation in rural areas, proving that the passion for books knows no geographical boundaries.
Dhuizon, a commune of nearly 1,400 inhabitants located between Chambord and the Sologne forest, benefits from an exceptional natural setting. Visitors to the fair can take advantage of their trip to discover the Solognot ponds, forest paths, and the village's built heritage. The fair is thus part of an initiative to promote the territory and local cultural animation, making Dhuizon a small literary hub for a day.
The Dhuizon Book Fair is held every year on a Sunday in December, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at the village hall.
