The intergenerational French song festival in the heart of Centre-Bretagne
Festi'Coat is an intergenerational French song festival held annually in Le Faouët, in the heart of Centre-Bretagne. Born from a friendly outdoor gathering in Cornouaille, this festival, driven by a team of passionate volunteers, offers two days of concerts under a marquee, blending French song, rock, variety, and festive music. Dedicated to Lili, co-founder and honorary president who passed away in 2024, Festi'Coat cultivates a family-friendly and convivial spirit that makes it a must-attend event in Morbihan.
Festi'Coat was born from a friendly outdoor gathering in Cornouaille, a spontaneous get-together of music and party enthusiasts that gave birth to a true festival. Located in Le Faouët, a small town of character in Centre-Bretagne, the event has grown from edition to edition to become a major musical event in Morbihan, while retaining its original spirit of conviviality and sharing.
Festi'Coat's uniqueness lies in its intergenerational nature. The programming is designed to bring together all generations: iconic French song artists like Soldat Louis, Les Fatals Picards, or Gérard Jaffrès share the stage with popular artists such as Fatal Bazooka, Yanns, Compagnie Créole, Superbus, or LEJ. The concerts take place under a large marquee, creating a warm atmosphere protected from the unpredictable Breton weather.
The 2025 edition was dedicated to Lili, co-founder and honorary president of the festival, who passed away in September 2024 at the age of 95. An emblematic figure of the event, Lili embodied the spirit of Festi'Coat: the passion for music, the joy of life, and the taste for intergenerational sharing. Her memory continues to inspire the team of volunteers who bring the festival to life.
The choice of Le Faouët as the festival location is no coincidence. This small town of character, known for its listed medieval market halls and remarkable chapels (including the famous Sainte-Barbe chapel), offers a picturesque and welcoming setting. The festival contributes to the summer entertainment of this inland Morbihan commune and participates in the enhancement of its cultural heritage.
Festi'Coat is entirely organized by volunteers, which gives it a rare authenticity and human warmth. From logistics to reception, from catering to security, every aspect of the festival is handled by a dedicated team that works year-round to offer the public two unforgettable days of celebration. This associative and participatory dimension is at the heart of the festival's identity.
