Festifrat': La Fraternelle's celebration in Saint-Claude

Festifrat' is the annual festival of La Fraternelle – Maison du Peuple, an emblematic cultural venue in Saint-Claude in the Haut-Jura region. Housed in a former cooperative building from the early 20th century, La Fraternelle is a space dedicated to culture, popular education, and performing arts, offering a year-round cultural program.

Three days of celebration and culture

Festifrat' unfolds over three days in early July, offering a rich and varied program that combines concerts, visual arts exhibitions, guided tours of the summer exhibition, film screenings, graphic workshops, and artist encounters. The event takes over the various spaces of La Fraternelle: exhibition halls, concert hall, inner courtyard, and gardens.

Zic à Brac: Musical Flea Market

A highlight and unmissable event of the festival, Zic à Brac is a musical flea market now in its 14th edition. Musicians and music lovers gather here on Sundays to exchange, buy, and sell musical instruments, accessories, vinyl records, CDs, and sheet music. In the afternoon, concerts by bands from La Fraternelle's rehearsal rooms liven up the courtyard.

Concerts and Musical Discoveries

Friday evening features concerts by the Conservatoire Haut-Jura Saint-Claude, with various ensembles: a clarinet ensemble, a jazz quartet, an ensemble of advanced students, and a Balkan traditional music ensemble. These concerts are followed by a documentary film and discussion.

Gastronomy and conviviality

Catering is provided by local associations, such as the Association des Réfugiés Laotiens du Jura, offering authentic Laotian cuisine. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere is the hallmark of Festifrat', true to the spirit of La Fraternelle.

Festifrat' — edition 2026

Festifrat' returns in early July 2026 to La Fraternelle – Maison du Peuple in Saint-Claude for another weekend of concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and Zic à Brac.
