About Festi'Mômes
Festi'Mômes is the youth festival hosted by the MJC-CS Jacques Tati in Orsay (Essonne). Held annually during the October school break for over 25 years, the festival features object theater, puppetry, dance, circus arts, and cine-concerts. It also offers workshops and masterclasses led by visiting companies, alongside a selection of films for young audiences at the Jacques Tati cinema. The City of Orsay considers it a highlight of its cultural season.
Festi'Mômes — edition 2026
Festi'Mômes returns to Orsay for the 2026 Toussaint holidays. From Sunday, October 18th to Friday, October 23rd, the MJC-CS Jacques Tati is offering six shows for young audiences, one per day, suitable for children from 12 months old: puppet shows, object theatre, visual and sound theatre, and illustrated concerts. The page for the 2026 edition is not yet online: workshops, courses, the Family Café, and film screenings are still to be announced.
2026 Edition
Ticket sales for the 2026-2027 season at the MJC-CS Jacques Tati opened on July 1st, 2026. The programme features six shows for young audiences scheduled from Sunday, October 18th to Friday, October 23rd, 2026, with one show per day during the Toussaint holidays for the Versailles academy, which run from Saturday, October 17th to Sunday, November 1st, 2026. Only one of these shows, Teddy, is explicitly linked to Festi'Mômes by the ticketing system; the other five occupy the same time slots and follow the same youth-oriented format.
What has not yet been published
The MJC-CS has not yet launched the dedicated festival page: the address mjctati.fr/festimomes still redirects to the 2025 programme, and the "Plaquette 26-27" button on the "Temps forts et festivals" page is inactive. Official festival opening and closing dates, workshops and courses led by the companies, the Family Café, the children's book fair, and the Jacques Tati cinema schedule are still missing. In 2025, the festival page was published on September 3rd, with the poster uploaded the day before.

A youth festival during the October break
Festi'Mômes is organized by the MJC-CS Jacques Tati, a community education association that has been a staple in Orsay since 1978. The festival has been running for over 25 years, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025. It takes place during the week of the All Saints' break and brings together live performances, workshops, artistic discovery courses, and cinema.
The program is curated by the Orsay cultural season collective, which brings together the City of Orsay, the Media Library Network, and the Paris-Saclay Departmental Conservatory. Alongside Festi'Mômes, this collective organizes the Science Festival, Festisol in November, Rêves des toiles during the February break, Et si on dansait ? in March, the Escales du CRD Paris-Saclay, and the Estivales d'Orsay in the summer.
Performances, workshops, and cinema
Each edition features one show per day, often with two or three sessions, ranging from object theater and puppetry to dance, circus arts, and cine-concerts. Some shows are designed for toddlers as young as 12 months. In parallel, the MJC-CS organizes workshops and courses led by visiting companies—such as illustration, puppetry, and stop-motion—while the Jacques Tati cinema on allée de la Bouvêche rounds out the festival with films for children aged 3 to 12.
Beyond the stage
The Family Café opens one morning in the theater lobby, offering parents and grandparents a place to relax with a drink while children enjoy a dedicated play area and activities. A children's book fair, hosted by the local bookstore Les Beaux Papiers, and a reading corner provided by the Paris-Saclay community libraries are available throughout the festival. The "Bar des Mômes" serves refreshments, crepes, and popcorn.
The 2025 edition
For its 25th anniversary in October 2025, Festi'Mômes featured "Pas Bête – Philosophie Canine" by Cie des Plumés on the 17th, "Comment attraper une étoile" by Cie Comme une étincelle on the 19th and 20th, "Minute papillon" by Cie la Rustine on the 21st, "Un bateau" by Cie Sans Soucis on the 22nd, "Rouge" by Cie Les Illustres Enfants Juste on the 23rd, and "Le vertige de l'envers" by L'envolée cirque on the 24th. These were complemented by an illustration workshop with Clouk, a puppet show-workshop with the company Daru-Thémpô, and a stop-motion course led by the MJC-CS multimedia club.
