Scène Nationale de l'Essonne — Season Theatre and Dance
The multidisciplinary season of the Scène nationale de l'Essonne, between Évry and Ris-Orangis
2026
About Scène nationale de l'Essonne
Designated a 'Scène nationale' by the Ministry of Culture in 1991, the Scène nationale de l'Essonne presents around fifty shows each season from September to June at the Théâtre de l'Agora in Évry-Courcouronnes and the Centre culturel Robert Desnos in Ris-Orangis. The program includes theater, dance, circus, music, performance art, and visual arts. It is supported by the State and the Essonne Departmental Council.
Scène nationale de l'Essonne — edition 2026
The 2026-2027 season at the Scène nationale de l'Essonne features 54 shows running from September 26, 2026, to June 12, 2027. Performances will take place at the Théâtre de l'Agora in Évry-Courcouronnes, the Centre culturel Robert Desnos in Ris-Orangis, and at around ten partner venues across Essonne and Seine-et-Marne. The program includes theater, dance, circus, music, performance art, visual arts, and audio storytelling, featuring artists such as Maguy Marin, Philippe Decouflé, Joël Pommerat, Jean Bellorini, Kyle Abraham, Baro d'evel, and Youssoupha.
2026-2027 Season
The season kicks off on September 26 and 27, 2026, with an outdoor performance of both parts of Les Trois Mousquetaires - La série by Collectif 49 701 in the Grand Veneur park in Soisy-sur-Seine. The season concludes from June 9 to 12, 2027, with Lacuna Kitchen by Abhishek Thapar, a dinner-show produced by the Scène nationale featuring cooks recruited from Évry-Courcouronnes.
Where to see the shows
Most of the 54 shows will be held at the Théâtre de l'Agora, located inside Le Spot shopping center in Évry-Courcouronnes, and at the Centre culturel Robert Desnos in Ris-Orangis. Seventeen shows will be hosted at other venues: the Arènes de Grand Paris Sud in Évry-Courcouronnes (May B, Abysciel, Entre-temps, Youssoupha), under the Cirque Trotolla big top at the Ferme du Bois Briard, the Théâtre de Corbeil-Essonnes, the Théâtre-Sénart in Lieusaint, the EMC in Saint-Michel-sur-Orge, the Bords de Scènes in Athis-Mons, the Scène de recherche at ENS Paris-Saclay in Gif-sur-Yvette, the Théâtre de Brétigny, the Grand Veneur park in Soisy-sur-Seine, and, for Croire aux fauves, in the forest.
Formats
Several events break away from the traditional stage format: two installations by Émilie Faïf in December, a headphone listening station at the Théâtre de l'Agora for twelve days in October, a live-streamed performance from Bamako in February, a night-time forest walk in March, and a dinner-show in June. Around forty sessions are scheduled for 10:00 AM or 2:30 PM on weekdays.
