Massy International Circus Festival: Thirty Years of Wonder
Since its first edition, the Massy International Circus Festival has become one of the most anticipated circus events in France. Held every late January under the Big Top at the Parc Georges-Brassens in Massy (Essonne), it annually gathers the greatest circus companies and artists from all over the world for exceptionally high-quality performances.
A Reference Festival in Europe
Affiliated with the international circus festival network, the Massy event attracts award-winning troupes and artists from major world festivals (Monte-Carlo, Moscow, Montreal). The shows feature demanding and surprising circus acts, blending tradition and innovation: breathtaking aerial acrobatics, high-flying juggling acts, contortionists, tightrope walkers, acrobatic lifts, high-class clowns, and occasionally equestrian or animal training acts selected with the utmost ethical care.
A Family and Popular Event
Accessible to all audiences, the festival offers evening performances (8:30 PM) for adults and morning shows (10:30 AM and 3:30 PM) for families and school groups during the weekend. The magic of the Big Top, the smell of sawdust, live music, and sparkling lights recreate the traditional circus atmosphere while offering resolutely contemporary shows. Entertainment is provided before and after the performances.
The 2025 Edition — 31st Edition
The 31st edition took place from January 30 to February 2, 2025, under the Big Top at Parc Georges-Brassens. For four days, festival-goers enjoyed acts of rare technical skill and striking visual beauty: Russian acrobats, Spanish jugglers, Asian aerialists, and French clowns delighted the audience of Essonne.
The 2026 Edition — 32nd Edition
The 32nd edition will be held from January 29 to February 1, 2026. Four days of full shows with five performances in total: Thursday, January 29 at 8:30 PM, Friday, January 30 at 8:30 PM, Saturday, January 31 at 10:30 AM, 3:30 PM, and 8:30 PM, Sunday, February 1 at 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM. Tickets, ranging from 16 to 67 euros depending on the category, are available on the official website and the Opéra de Massy's online ticketing.
A Major Cultural Player in Essonne
The Massy International Circus Festival is a pillar of cultural life in Essonne. It contributes to the department's influence, attracts visitors from all over Île-de-France, and helps transmit circus culture to younger generations. In partnership with local schools and educational institutions, the festival organizes school mornings that introduce the world of circus to thousands of children each year.
