A festival born from a passion for orchestras
In 2018, the Community Music School of Orée de Bercé-Belinois launched Festiv'Harmonies, a festival entirely dedicated to wind orchestras and big bands. The idea is simple yet ambitious: to bring together amateur and semi-professional musical ensembles from Sarthe and neighboring departments for days of free concerts at Val'Rhonne, the cultural hall of Moncé-en-Belin.
Since its creation, the festival has continued to grow, attracting about ten ensembles and nearly 450 musicians each year for concerts that blend classical repertoire, original creations, and contemporary arrangements in a warm atmosphere.
Le Val'Rhonne, the beating heart of Belinois music
Le Val'Rhonne, the cultural hall of Moncé-en-Belin located on Allée de l'Europe, offers an ideal acoustic and friendly setting for a festival of orchestras. Its capacity allows it to host both large wind orchestras and more intimate ensembles, under professional technical conditions.
An eclectic and ambitious program
Festiv'Harmonies offers a varied program that reflects the richness of the amateur music scene in Sarthe. The invited ensembles cover a wide spectrum: wind orchestras, jazz big bands, brass ensembles, flute ensembles, brass bands. Among the regularly invited groups are the Orchestre d'Harmonie du Belinois, the Big Band de l'Orée de Bercé-Belinois, the Orchestre Départemental d'Harmonie de la Sarthe, the Harmonie municipale de Mayet, Sympho'Campus, the Coniques Brass Band, and the music school's brass ensemble.
Free and open to all
All Festiv'Harmonies concerts are free, in line with the organizers' desire to make orchestral music accessible to as many people as possible. The festival actively contributes to the cultural life of the Orée de Bercé-Belinois territory and the promotion of amateur musical practice in Sarthe.
