Classical and Baroque music in the historic sites of Périgord Noir
The Belvès Bach Festival is a classical and baroque music festival held every summer in the historic sites of Périgord Noir: the church of Belvès, the abbey of Cadouin, and the abbey of Saint-Avit-Sénieur. Created over 25 years ago, the festival offers a series of concerts around the works of Johann Sebastian Bach, performed on the organ, in baroque ensemble, or in chamber formation. Many concerts are offered free of charge.
The Belvès Bach Festival is one of the major musical events in Périgord Noir. For over 25 years, it has celebrated the work of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries in historic locations: the church of Belvès, the abbey of Cadouin, and the abbey of Saint-Avit-Sénieur.
The festival offers five exceptional concerts to discover or rediscover Bach's works for organ, as a soloist, or enriched within an orchestra. The program deliberately mixes a free opening concert to introduce the general public to classical music and a series of concerts for a more informed audience.
The festival hosts prestigious ensembles such as the Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse, brass quintets, and renowned organ soloists, offering high-level performances in the remarkable acoustics of the Romanesque and Gothic buildings of Périgord.
The Belvès Bach Festival returns for its 27th edition in the summer of 2026, with classical and baroque music concerts in the historic sites of Périgord Noir.
