Amateur string instrument music festival in Périgord Noir
Created in 2022, the Festival Paleyrac'Cordes is a unique musical event in Périgord Noir, entirely dedicated to string instruments. Every year in June, the Théâtre de verdure in the hamlet of Paleyrac, in the commune of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin, hosts about thirty amateur groups and soloists from Dordogne and beyond.
The only condition for participation: the ensemble must include at least one string instrument. The result is an incredibly rich program, mixing pop, rock, folk, jazz, country, classical, funk, traditional, and world music. Since its creation, over 55 groups or soloists and 200 musicians have participated in the festival.
The festival is free and open to all. Four stages host artists throughout the day. Children's workshops, an artisan market, and a refreshment stand with food complete the offerings for a festive outdoor day in the green setting of Périgord Noir.
The Festival Paleyrac'Cordes will return for its 5th edition in June 2026. The program and practical information will be announced on the official website www.festival-paleyrac-cordes.fr.
The festival takes place at the Théâtre de verdure de Paleyrac, commune of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin (24480).
Free admission for the public. Food and drinks available on site.
