Musical and lyrical vibrations on the Causse
Since 1997, Les Musicales du Causse de Gramat has offered a high-quality classical music festival in the heart of the Causse du Quercy. A cultural emanation of the Association des Amis des Orgues de Gramat, created in 1991, the festival explores all repertoires — Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary, and World Music — over an extended season from April to November. Concerts take place in venues with remarkable comfort and acoustics: the Église Saint-Pierre, the Salle de l'Horloge, and the Cloister of the Gramat Convent.
Since 1997, Les Musicales du Causse de Gramat have offered music lovers in the region and beyond a high-level classical music program. This festival is the cultural emanation of the Association des Amis des Orgues de Gramat, founded in 1991, which played a decisive role in the restoration of the historic organ in the Gramat parish church. This instrument, built by the Toulouse firm Feuga and commissioned in 1853, was classified as a historic monument in 1993, and its restoration was completed in September 2002.
Concerts are held in several emblematic venues in Gramat, chosen for their comfort and acoustics suitable for the proposed repertoires:
The festival is distinguished by the breadth of its programming, which encompasses all repertoires: from the Renaissance to the Baroque, from Classical to Romantic, as well as contemporary music and world music. Each season features six to eight concerts spread from April to November, allowing audiences to discover internationally renowned artists and promising young talents.
Among the artists and ensembles that have marked the festival's history are organist Olivier Latry, the Violins of Prague, the Chœur d'hommes de Sartène, the quartet Anches Hantées, soloists Émile Parisien and Roberto Negro, trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary, and the Brass Band de Toulouse.
Gramat, a small typical town in the Lot located near Rocamadour and Brive-la-Gaillarde, provides an ideal setting for this festival that combines musical discovery and heritage. By choosing a season spread over several months rather than a concentrated format, Les Musicales du Causse are integrated into the local and tourist cultural life of the territory, offering regular musical events throughout the year to both visiting and resident audiences.
The festival offers accessible prices, generally between 20 and 30 euros per concert, and makes a point of creating a friendly atmosphere where spectators can interact with the artists. Online booking is available on the festival's official website, making it easy to plan your visit.
The 2026 season of Les Musicales du Causse offers a brilliant and complete program from April to November, with six concerts highlighting the Corsican polyphonies of A Filetta, pianist Victor Demarquette, Clara Cernat and the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra for Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, the Saxback Ensemble, Deborah Nemtanu and Pierre Cussac, and the duo Juliette Hurel and Isabelle Moretti.
Les Musicales du Causse return for a new season full of discoveries and musical emotions, with six concerts from April to November 2026.
