The popular and festive festival of the Lot, between music, gastronomy and blue mopeds
In 2021, a handful of locals from the Lot, passionate about their region, founded the association Lot of Good Day and launched an ambitious challenge: to create a major popular festival in the Lot, combining music, conviviality, and promotion of local heritage. The idea has its roots in the gatherings of blue mopeds (the famous "meules bleues") which had already made a mark, notably with a triumphant arrival on the Champs-Élysées in 2017 and a tour of France in 2018. The Festival Le Lot en Meule Bleue was thus born at the Parc des Expositions du Grand Cahors in Fontanes, an ideal setting to welcome thousands of festival-goers.
From its very first edition in September 2021, the festival affirmed its identity: a family-friendly and festive program mixing French chanson, pop, rock, variety, and world music. Over the editions, the Le Lot en Meule Bleue stage has hosted top-tier artists:
The program grows each year with more than 20 concerts on two stages (indoor and outdoor), offering musical diversity that appeals to an intergenerational audience.
The festival is distinguished by its blue moped ride, a friendly parade of mopeds from the 1960s through the roads and villages of the Lot. This festive and nostalgic event brings together hundreds of participants and embodies the good-natured spirit of the festival: the celebration of Lot heritage in a cheerful atmosphere.
Beyond music, the festival highlights the riches of the Lot department and the Occitanie region. Local gastronomy is in the spotlight with a festival village offering regional products and Cahors wine. Regional artists and the Oh My Lot! competition provide a showcase for the emerging music scene of the territory. Since 2024, the festival has been awarded an eco-responsible label by the SYDED of the Lot.
In 2025, the festival changes its name to become Meules Bleues Festival, marking a new stage in its development while retaining the festive and popular spirit that defines its identity. The 5th edition hosted Santa, Boulevard des Airs, Keen'V, Jérémy Frérot, Hatik, 47Ter, and Babylon Circus, confirming the event's growing ambition.
The 6th edition of the Meules Bleues Festival (formerly Le Lot en Meule Bleue) from Thursday, September 10 to Saturday, September 12, 2026, at a brand new open-air site: the Plaine de Labéraudie, in Cahors. The program includes: Zaz as headliner, Bénabar, Black M, Adèle Castillon, Calema, Chiloo, Bleu Soleil, and an opening DJ night, for three days of popular music, local gastronomy from Lot, and conviviality.
For its 6th edition, from September 10 to 12, 2026, the Meules Bleues Festival changes its scenery: it leaves the Parc des Expositions de Fontanes to settle on a new green open-air site, the Plaine de Labéraudie in Cahors, on the banks of the Lot. A natural setting of approximately 1.6 hectares to host three days of concerts on two stages.
The 2026 edition brings together national and regional artists mixing French chanson, pop, rap, Latin, and festive music. Zaz is the headliner on Friday, surrounded by Adèle Castillon, Chiloo, and the duo Bleu Soleil. Saturday features Bénabar, Black M, and Calema. The opening night on Thursday takes the form of a 100% DJ « Warm Up » with DJ Bens. More than 20 concerts are announced for the entire weekend.
True to its identity, the festival celebrates the Lot region: local gastronomy, Cahors wine, and a friendly atmosphere inherited from the gatherings of blue mopeds that gave the event its name.
Doors open at 6:30 PM.
