Free contemporary music festival in Prayssac in the Lot
Prayssac en Fête is a free contemporary music festival held annually on the last weekend of August on Place Dutours in Prayssac, Lot. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes since 2012, this festive and popular event offers three days of free concerts mixing ska-punk, reggae, rock, hip-hop, and world music. Supported by about sixty volunteers, the festival attracts over 2,000 people each evening in a friendly and family atmosphere, with also entertainment, rides for children, and a grand village meal on Sunday.
Prayssac en Fête was born in 2012 from the desire of the Comité des Fêtes de Prayssac to revive the traditional Saint-Barthélemy village festival. Since its creation, the festival has grown to become a must-attend event at the end of summer in the Lot. Each year, on the last weekend of August, the Place Dutours in Prayssac transforms into a real open-air stage for three days of free concerts and popular entertainment.
For 14 editions, Prayssac en Fête has championed popular culture accessible to all. The program mixes national and local artists in various genres: ska-punk, reggae, rock, hip-hop, world music, and brass band. Over the years, the festival has hosted renowned groups such as Les Sheriff, Sergent Garcia, The Locos (ex Ska-P), Marcel et son Orchestre, Sidi Wacho, OAI Star, Shantel, Los Tres Puntos, Opium du Peuple, Gérard Baste (Svinkels), and OAI Reggae Party.
Each evening features several bands on stage, offering a rich and varied program that gets over 2,000 people dancing in a warm and festive atmosphere. The festival makes a point of offering musical discoveries alongside headliners, allowing emerging artists to perform in front of a large audience.
Beyond the concerts, Prayssac en Fête is above all a village festival in the finest tradition of the Southwest. The program is structured around three full days:
Rides and entertainment for children are also offered throughout the weekend, making Prayssac en Fête a truly family-friendly event.
Prayssac en Fête is entirely organized by the Comité des Fêtes de Prayssac, a volunteer association whose main objective is organizing the Saint-Barthélemy village festival. Nearly 50 to 60 volunteers mobilize for several months to ensure the smooth running of the events. Under the presidency of Quentin Nouvel, the team strives to offer a festive and committed program each year, always free, in a spirit of sharing and conviviality that is the pride of this small village in Quercy.
The festival takes place on Place Dutours, 46220 Prayssac, in the Lot department of Occitanie.
Admission to concerts and entertainment is completely free.
Bars and food stalls are available on site. On Sunday evening, a village meal is organized (reservation required). In 2025: summer salad, hay-baked ham, Sarladaise potatoes, cabécou cheese, and fruit tart — €18 for adults, €10 for children under 12.
