About Re-Naissance
Re-Naissance is a festival hosted by L'Arrosoir, the social and cultural hub located on Rue de Crussol in Figeac. For an entire month, the event explores local history, art, and heritage through a diverse program of lectures, film screenings, workshops, guided tours, concerts, games, markets, and exhibitions, all brought to life by local associations and residents.
The festival's theme is inspired by a specific landmark: the private mansion at 5 Rue de Crussol, originally built by Galiot de Genouillac for his daughter, Jeanne.
Re-Naissance — edition 2026
The 2026 edition takes place from August 19th to September 20th in Figeac, featuring over forty-five events that explore the Renaissance in all its facets: lectures, workshops, games, a market, and performances. The festival reaches its climax during the European Heritage Days weekend on September 19th and 20th, with "Le Rêve de Jeanne," an immersive historical walking play created specifically for the occasion by the l'Oreille à plume company, performed four times.

- September 9th — Lecture: "Galiot de Genouillac, an exceptional journey"

- September 10th — "Controllers & Renaissance" gaming event
- September 11th — Lecture: "When the Renaissance speaks"
- September 12th — Historiographical lecture
- September 13th — Performance: "The King is Amused!"
- September 14th — Astrolabe introductory workshop
- September 16th — Peasant banquet at the Figeac social center
- September 16th — Lecture: "The House of Crussol"
Weekend of September 19th and 20th — European Heritage Days
- September 18th — "Budget-friendly Italy" evening
- 10:00 AM — September 19th — The return of the troubadours, entertainment and sketches at the Figeac market, free admission
