About Lights of Périgord
« Sarlat, Lumières du Périgord » is an immersive sound and light show that takes place in the Jardin des Enfeus, at the foot of the Saint-Sacerdos Cathedral in Sarlat. Through monumental 3D projections and an enchanting soundscape, the walls of the ancient abbey light up to retrace 3,500 years of Périgord history: from the Lascaux frescoes to the troubadours, from the Renaissance to the traditions of the black truffle, including Sarlat's ties with the Kings of France and the humanist thought of Étienne de La Boétie.

An immersive journey through history
In the enchanting setting of the Jardin des Enfeus, the walls of the ancient abbey light up to retrace 3,500 years of Périgord history. Thanks to monumental 3D projections, the stone transforms into a prehistoric cave, a river, foliage, a manuscript, or a Renaissance facade.
From the Paleolithic to the present day
The show covers a striking historical fresco: from the Lascaux frescoes to the art of the troubadours, from humanist thinkers to the Hundred Years' War, from regained peace to the living traditions of Périgord. Spectators discover Sarlat's connections with the Kings of France, the free thought of Étienne de La Boétie, and the region's deep attachment to its traditions such as the black truffle.
