The Sarlat Christmas Market is one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in southwestern France. Every December, throughout the month, the medieval city of Sarlat-la-Canéda is adorned with lights and hosts around 70 chalets on the Place de la Grande-Rigaudie and Place du 14-Juillet. Crafts, gastronomy, entertainment, shows, illuminations, and an ice rink transform the city into a magical setting. Each year, a country or culture is highlighted.

A Christmas market at the heart of heritage
In less than twenty years, the Sarlat Christmas Market has become one of the unmissable events of the holiday season in the Dordogne. Located on the Place de la Grande-Rigaudie and Place du 14-Juillet, it offers around 70 chalets featuring crafts and gastronomy in the exceptional setting of the medieval city.
A different theme each year
Each edition highlights a country or culture: Norway in 2023, Italy in 2024, French overseas territories in 2025. This theme is reflected in the entertainment, shows, tastings, and special stands that complement the offerings of local artisans.
Entertainment and magic
Throughout December, illuminations, decorations, shows, markets, and an ice rink animate the city. The 15 chalets in the food court offer gastronomic specialties until 11 PM on weekends and every evening during school holidays.

The market is located on the Place de la Grande-Rigaudie and Place du 14-Juillet in Sarlat-la-Canéda (24200).
- By car: A89 then D704 towards Sarlat.
- By train: Sarlat SNCF station.
Opening Hours
Open daily from 10 AM to 8 PM, until 10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Closes at 6 PM on December 24th and 31st. Closed on December 25th.
