2026-2027 Season of the Brive Fat Fairs
An essential winter gastronomic tradition in Brive-la-Gaillarde, the Fat Fairs bring together local producers and lovers of good products under the Halle Georges Brassens, in the heart of the city. The 2026-2027 season offers six award-winning fairs, on Saturday mornings, from mid-November to early March.
Each award-winning fair is accompanied by culinary demonstrations led by the chefs of Les Tables Gaillardes, with preparation tips and tastings. An ancestral gastronomic tradition
The Foires Grasses de Brive perpetuate a centuries-old tradition of highlighting the products of the Corrèze and Southwest terroir. Every Saturday morning in winter, the Halle Brassens becomes the scene of an authentic market celebrating local know-how.
Exceptional products
Fattened ducks, fattened geese, foie gras, magrets, capons, and farmyard poultry are in the spotlight. A quality charter guarantees the traceability of products, traditional corn grain feeding, and other strict requirements, implemented by the City of Brive, the chambers of agriculture of Corrèze, Lot, and Dordogne, veterinary services, and producer associations.
The King's Fair
The highlight of the season, the Foire des Rois (King's Fair) takes place on January 10th with free canning of foie gras offered by the City of Brive. From December 6th to February 21st, a controlled market for fresh truffles is organized every Saturday morning at 8:15 am in the Salle Brassens.
